Brahmastra: A third of the three, also known as Brahmastra (Hindi pronunciation: [bɾəʱmaːst̪ɾ]), is an Indian superhero movie, adapted and directed by Ayan Mukherjee from 2026 and produced by Karan Johar. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mauni Roy and Akkineni Nagarjuna in the lead roles and will act as the first film of the planned trilogy.
The original photography began in Bulgaria in February 2018. The film is scheduled for release on December 4, 2020 in Standard, 3D and IMAX formats, including dubbed versions of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

Production Of Brahmastra Movie
Producer Karan Johar announced the film on October 11, 2017 via Twitter and revealed that it would become a film trilogy. Preparation for the film began in January 2018. In an interview, Kapoor revealed that Mukerji “spent six years of his life working.” It’s really hard to write an original story, “and that the trilogy will be filmed over a 10-year period, and the rumors will be disproved, suggesting it’s a romantic superhero movie. Director Ayan Mukherjee revealed that the inspiration for actor Ranbir Kapoor’s character came from Rumi, who also inspired the first aspect of her character. The main photography started in February 2018 with the start of the first film plan on February 24, 2018. The first film plan ended on March 24, 2018 in Bulgaria. The second shooting schedule continued in Bulgaria and on July 8, 2018 in London, London, New York and then Bulgaria. The extensive filming began on February 1, 2019 in Edinburgh, Scotland. The 20-day calendar started on July 30, 2019 at Fort Ramnagar and Fort Chet Singh in Varanasi.
The music for the film is composed by Pritam, while the lyrics are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. British producer Steez Banglez was also contacted to work with Pritam because the soundtrack requires “futuristic music in progress”.
Marketing and release
The film title logo was unveiled on March 4, 2019, and the Brahmāstra film logo was released on the same day at Maha Shivratri in Kumbh Mela. First, 150 drones were used to illuminate the sky and shape the logo. Fox Star Hindi released a logo launch video at Kumbh Mela 2019 on March 5, 2019, a new advertising initiative in Bollywood. de Brahmāstra was released on March 6th, 2019.
